SchröderApartment social housing in Olten - 2022
Concept
At the core of our design approach lies the concept of connection. We have crafted interior spaces that not only foster interaction among residents but also establish a constant dialogue with the surrounding environment. Each apartment has been conceived as a double volume, extending both vertically and horizontally, allowing for a natural flow of light and air and creating a sense of continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Features
The numerous openings within the building's interiors allow natural light to filter into the living spaces, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. These openings not only offer panoramic views of the surrounding environment but also serve as a bridge between residents and the outdoor landscape. The double apartment, with its interconnected volumes, promotes a visual and sensory dialogue that extends both upwards and downwards, as well as outward and inward within the building.
Materials
Two distinct material languages define the interiors of the building. On one hand, concrete and steel lend an industrial and contemporary character to the spaces, while on the other hand, wood and warm materials introduce a sense of comfort and familiarity. This combination of materials creates a harmonious balance between modernity and tradition, offering residents an environment that is both stimulating and reassuring
